It is with our deepest sympathy to announce the passing of our beloved father, Richard John Elder, on Friday, February 16, 2024, at the Kootenay Lake Hospital.
Richard was born on April 27, 1933, in Boundary Creek, Alberta. He worked in construction for 40 years and enjoyed hunting and fishing with family and friends.
He is predeceased by his wife Johanne.
He will be fondly remembered by his children, David (Janice), Stephen (Lynette), and Wendy. Grandchildren: Candice, Richard (Samantha), Sarah (Arman), Shawn (Mykayla), Rachel, Nadine (Travis), and Shelby (Austin). Great-Grandchildren: Sophia, Hudson, Jensen, Declan, Carmen, Richard (RJ), and Levi.
The Elder family would like to thank First Responders of Balfour/Procter, Nelson Paramedics, nurses, and doctors of Kootenay Lake Hospital for the care that they gave him.
A "Celebration 0f Life" will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers the family would like to ask you to make a donation to the BC Wildlife Federation, or to a charity of your choice.
