In loving memory ~
On October 13, 2021, this world lost a precious soul and the best mom. After a brief illness Rita passed away peacefully, with her family by her side in Nelson, BC.
Rita was born in Blairmore, AB to Armando and Anna Lissa, later moving to Nelson, BC with her surviving four siblings: Marilyn, Allen, Julie and Joe.
After raising her children to adulthood mom finally met her best friend and partner Bill Hicks. She moved to Slocan, BC to live out her best life with him. Our family will be forever grateful for the wonderful life Bill gave her. Her greatest passions in life were her quilting, flowers, fishing, and huckleberry picking.
Mom accepted her diagnosis with peace and expressed how blessed she was for the two wonderful lives she was given. First being her children Steven, Shirley, and Sandra. Second being her greatest joys her grandchildren Nicholas, Tyler, Cory, Nicole, and Keenan.
We'll miss you forever mom!
