Apr 20, 1957 - Jul 18, 2017
Robert Greg Emory, born April 20, 1957 passed away peacefully July 18, 2017 in Victoria General Hospital, after numerous years of health challenges resulting from a brain tumour in 1985. He was a kind, caring, quiet man who never complained about the limitations he endured.

Predeceased by his loving parents Bob and Jean Emory, Greg is survived by his wife Sally, sisters Janis and Lee, aunt Betty Askew, cousin Bruce Askew (Betty-Lou), numerous young cousins, and lifelong Nelson friends.

Growing up in Nelson, Greg enjoyed and excelled at Little League, skiing, water sports, and his true love, playing minor and junior hockey as a talented goalie.

Graduating from LVR, Greg attended UVic and obtained his Bachelors of Education. A source of pride and joy to Greg teaching at Alwin Holland Elementary in Fort St-John, where he taught his entire career.

Greg was an active volunteer at St. Luke's United Church in Fort St-John and raised thousands of dollars for "Bluey Days", benefiting cancer research.

Memorial services are scheduled in Mill Bay at Fort St-John. A private remembrance to be held in Nelson at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, Janis and Lee would appreciate a donation to the BC Cancer Agency or your choice of charity.
