It is with a heavy heart that we announce the peaceful passing of Robert (Bob) Moffat on April 11, 2016. He is survived by his beloved Roberta (Betty) of 73 years, his sons Michael (Sue) and Paul (Cherry), his grandson Teal, granddaughters Lisa, Bryna, Shawna and Kayla, four great-grandsons and four great granddaughters. A World War 2 veteran of Canada’s Navy, Bob was a 60 year member of the masonic order AF & AM, past Master of Lynn Valley 122 in North Vancouver. He was also an active member of the Sentinel Lodge number 146 until his health slowed him down, and a member of the Shriners of the Gizah Temple where he acted as their hospital representative, arranging for services provided by the Shriner’s Children Hospital. He was also a past patron of the order of the Eastern Star, serving Burrard Chapter #3, North Vancouver, Chapter #43 Nanaimo, and Minto Chapter #79, Castlegar. Bob loved to fly fish with Paul and looked forward to the opening season. He was also an avid golfer, a member of Castlegar golf club and played frequently with Michael. We will miss his humor and laughter. He always enjoyed people. Never a dull moment. We thank Dr. Jim Noiles for all his care and compassion over the years. We wish him well in his new adventure of retirement and hope the fish still bite. By request there will be no service. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bob’s name to the British Columbia Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated. Arrangements are under the direction of Thompson Funeral Service.
