July 28, 1954 - June 17, 2022
In loving memory ~
With deep sorrow and much love, the family of Rosetta Maglio announces her sudden passing at the age of 67. Peacefully and surrounded by her family, Rosetta passed on June 17th, 2022 at the Kootenay Lake Regional Hospital in Nelson, British Columbia.
Daughter to Vito and Caterina Carchidi, Rosetta was born on July 28th, 1954 in Italy. As a young child Rosetta traveled to Canada with her family starting out in Thuder Bay, ON, then moving to Nelson B.C where she lived most her life.
On October 6th, 1984 she married the love of her life, Alfredo A. Maglio. Rosetta found happiness in the simplest pleasures of life. She loved to cook for her family, and was certainly talented at it. She would spend hours in the kitchen preparing meals for her family. No one could ever make pasta quite as delicious as Rosetta - every time her grandchildren sat down to eat her famous pasta they would guess how many meatballs she put into the sauce, a tradition that started the day her grandchildren could first speak until the last meal they sat down to enjoy as a family.
During Rosetta's life, she found great comfort in caring for her loved ones. No matter what, she was always there for her husband Alfredo, her daughter Alesandra, and her grandchildren. She would spend hours picking out the perfect present to make sure it would bring a smile to her loved ones' faces. She remembered every detail you would tell her of what you liked and what you didn't like. Rosetta was a wonderful listener and a great supporter.
Rosetta leaves behind her spouse Alfredo A. Maglio, her daughter Alesandra Taburiaux (Youri), her grandchildren Alyssa, Kaitlyn, and Emily Taburiaux, and her siblings Rita Wickens (John), Dolares Valente (Luigi), Ralph Carchidi (Lisa), Joe Carchidi, and her mother Caterina Carchidi, as well as several Aunts, Uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Rosetta was predeceased by her father, Vito Carchidi, and Andrea Marchiori (first husband).
On Monday, June 27th, 2022 from 1:00-4:30pm there will be an open house event held at 410 Houston street in Nelson B.C for friends and family who wish to give their condolences.
Her family is grateful for and would like to thank the staff of the Kootenay Lake Hospital for making her comfortable and cared for in her final days.
