With loving hearts, we mourn the death of Sandra Bierbrier, Mother to Lisa Rezansoff (Charlie), Eric Bierbrier, and Grandmother to Sarah, Natalie and Jemma.

Born in Montreal, Sandra worked diligently her whole life to bring up her children, instilling in them a sense of compassion for others and the skills for independence.

Sandra moved to Kelowna, then to Nelson to be closer to family.  She lived for her visits from Jemma, watching her grow up with great pride. She was called “Grandma Canada” by Sarah and Natalie whom she followed proudly from a distance.

Sandra had a sharp wit, flair for fashion and a love for literature and Chinese art. She fiercely defended her views and her rights regardless of circumstance, reminding us to accept and see people as individuals.

During these last months of life, Sandra transformed into a peaceful, gentle soul,  graciously accepting the kindness of the compassionate staff in Evergreen Cottage at Mountain Lakes Seniors Facility, who embraced her unconditionally and found her gift in life. She in turn, cherished and loved them like family.

Thank you Mom for being so strong in paving the way to a softer journey to come.
