Sara Conrow

Sara Jessie Conrow, 89, of Mirror Lake, died Tuesday, January 14th.

Sara was born to Ruth and Archibald Crosbie on February 29th, 1924.

Sara moved from Southern California to Argenta and later Kaslo with her family of three children in 1964 to join her sister’s family, her parents and the Quaker community in Argenta.

Sara is well known and loved for the many years that she taught elementary school in Kaslo and for her volunteer work at the hospice in Kaslo. Her first teaching job was during World War II at the internment camp for Japanese Americans in Topaz Utah. Sara was a long time member of the Nelson Eckankar group where she has lived for a number of years.

Sara’s never failing and happy spirit will live on in all of us. Sara is survived by three children, Roger Conrow of Vancouver, BC; Teresa Conrow of Venice, California; and Connie Rohman of Los Angeles, California and her granddaughter, Nora Rohman of Los Angeles.

A memorial service for family and friends will be held in Nelson. The date and location will be announced in this paper or can be obtained by contacting Teresa Conrow at tconrow2@gmail.com
