NOTICE OF PASSING "SKENE" Shaun Halsey Skene, born May 23, 1974, was tragically killed in an industrial accident while working at his trade as a heavy duty mechanic on February 25, 2010. Shaun lived his life as all others should. He was loyal and honest, he always did what he thought was right and no matter how busy he was, he always made time to help anyone who needed it. Shaun had many interest through out his life including gliding and flying, wrestling, Taekwon-Do, billiards, hunting, fishing, prospecting, cooking, and creating and maintaining a hobby farm. In his short time here Shaun was able to achieve anything he put his mind to. He had received numerous awards in air cadets, a private pilot's license, the Duke of Edinburgh's award, a black belt in Taekwon-Do, built a business and he found love that would last the rest of his life. He will be missed and loved forever by his best friend and partner Leanne Cherry, his mother Hazel, his sister Sarah(Steve), nieces Cynthia and Carlie, his uncles Gord(Phyllis), and Ken(Shirley), the Cherry family who thought of him as one of their own, his loyal companion Chester, many friends and members of the Skene and Halsey families. A funeral service will be held at The Nelson United Church, 602 Silica Street, Saturday March 6, 2010 at 2:00pm, with a celebration of life to follow at the Christie Hall. Cremation will follow the service.
