Was born in Nelson, BC in 1938 and passed away peacefully with her family by her side on March 17, 2018.
She is predeceased by her parents, her husband Ed and by her great granddaughter Taylor Marie.
She is survived by her 8 biological children, 2 adopted daughters, 17 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Shirley worked as a Nurses Aid at Mount St. Francis for 30 years while also raising a large family. She was thought of as a bit of a 'crochet maniac' and no one can recall ever seeing her hands still; she loved to create things. Shirley also loved to have her son in law take her for car rides and appreciated anyone who would drive her around 'the loop'.
A Celebration of Shirley's life will take place later this summer. Gwen Ziprick of Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Services has been entrusted with the arrangements.
