SIDNEY JAMES WAPPLE passed away peacefully on February 15 2010 at the age of 63. Sid was the youngest child of Anthony and Katherine (Fowler). He was predeceased by his parents, his sisters Marion, Marie, Florence and Elizabeth, two brothers Don and George; is survived by brothers Dave (Shirley) and Ken, his loving wife Ronnae (nee Sanders) his two sons Glenn (Lisa) and Dwayne, his four grandsons Tyler, Joshua, Spencer and Noah, sister in laws Alice, Nina, Terry, and Sheila, father and mother in law Harry and Vida (Nowlin) Sanders, brothers in law Ed and Jack. Sid was most often seen with a smile on his face -he was never bored- he worked hard all his life starting at the age of 14, he moved to Exshaw AB and worked for his brother in law at the lime factory, moved back to Nelson in 1965 where he found his sweetheart and worked at KFP, Nelson Farmers Supply and back to KFP where he was a foreman. After the closure of KFP, Sid worked for Canada Post. In 1992 Sid and Ronnae semi retired (only in word as they now worked 24/7) at the Nelson Kiwanis Villa, as the managers, in March 2009 Sid retired and spent his remaining months doing what he did best, helping his family, caring for his mother in law Vida until the time of his death. Sid's favourite past times were playing cards with friends, mostly crib and poker, camping, huckleberry picking, BBQing, sausage making, and was often seen helping anyone in need. He loved fishing; it was a love he shared with his boys and grandsons. He was often seen wrestling and playing with his grandsons. Sid was a great husband, father and father in law, grandpa and the greatest friend. He will be sadly missed.
