Silvio Anthony Bragagnolo was born in Nelson, BC on July 28th 1923. 91 years later he passed away in his hometown on September 25th, 2014.

He spent his childhood years in Nelson and went on to attend the University of Toronto, later finishing his degree in Education at the University of British Columbia. They went on to raise 6 wonderful children while he embarked on his teaching career, beginning first at Central School.

Silvio (or Mr. B. as his students called him), was a skilled educator, spending the majority of his career as an administrator at various elementary schools around Nelson. Silvio was involved in the amalgamation of South Nelson and was one of the founders of the Blewett Ski Hill, later known as Morning Mountain. He also was a member of the Italian Club, the Knights of Columbus, the Royal Canadian Legion and the Retired Teachers Association. As Silvio often said, “Good wine, good food and good people, what more do you need?”
