In loving memory ~
Kozak, Sonia (nee Street) died on February 25th at the age of 79 years following a tragic motor vehicle incident. She was born in Saskatoon, SK to Mike Kozak and Olga Nowosad and raised in Meacham SK. Left to celebrate her life are her daughters Lisa(Doug Murray) Sheila(Cam Kuch), grandchildren Chloe, Sam and Adam, her sisters Theresa and Phyllis, Aunt Liz(Wally), her former spouse Merv and countless friends and family worldwide.
Sonia had a lengthy and diverse career as a Registered Nurse, from busy city hospitals, rural clinics and home care settings to remote regions of the Arctic. She had many interests including a love for animals, the outdoors, artistic expression, and community service. Spending time with her family and friends was a priority to her and many people expressed how they felt a warm welcome being with her. She had a compassionate ear to hear many stories and a remarkable healing touch. Her faith in Christ and spiritually was a sustaining rock for her and a foundation of how she showed up in life.
The family wishes to thank everyone for the many expressions of love and comfort at this time and also wishes peace and gratitude to all those who witnessed and responded to the accident. We encourage you to hug your loved ones a little tighter and take the time to celebrate each new day. Should you feel compelled to honor Sonia and her work here on earth, please give to the Kootenay Christian Fellowship Food Bank."
