Steven was born on October 27th, 1975 in Nelson BC and passed away in Burnaby BC on April 23rd, 2016 at the age of 40 after a courageous battle with cancer.

He was a devoted single father of two wonderful sons. Naturally athletic, Steven was involved in many sports but hockey and lacrosse were his favorites. Steven was a dedicated Canucks fan. Steven took great pride in earning his Bachelor of Science degree in nursing. He worked in a variety of specialty areas but his true calling was in the field of palliative tertiary care. He spent the final years of his career working at Surrey Memorial hospital making a difference in the lives of his patients and their families. Steven made friends in every community he called home: the Kootenays, the Island and the Lower Mainland. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Predeceased by grandparents William and Florence Hodgins, grandfather Jack Graham, aunt Kathleen Hodgins and aunt and uncle Jacki and Julien Boogemans. Steven is survived by his sons Keenan and Kael Hodgins, parents Victor and Doralynne Hodgins and Toni and Terry Hallam, sister Jennifer (Terran) Booth, brothers: William and Richard Hodgins and Jesse Hallam, nieces Drew and Ella Booth, grandparents: Amy Graham, Margaret Law and Angus and Heather Hallam, numerous aunts, uncles and cousins who knew how special they were to Steve. A Celebration of Steven’s Life was held on May 14th, 2016 at the First Memorial Burkeview Chapel in Port Coquitlam. In lieu of flowers, donations in Steven’s name to the BC Cancer Agency would be appreciated

by the family.
