August 5, 1947 - July 11, 2020
Born August 5, 1947 in Nelson, B.C. It is with immense sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Sue on July 11, 2020 in Escondido, California.
Sue was born and raised in Nelson, attending St. Joseph and L.V. Rogers schools. She was an excellent student and excelled at all sports, especially volleyball, softball and swimming. She sang in Mrs. Ferguson's choir.
Sue attended nursing school and was Valedictorian at Royal Columbian Hospital in New Westminster where she later worked. In 1978, she married Bob Mayfield and they made their home in the San Diego area. For a short time they lived in Salt Lake City where their son Scott was born. Sue continued her nursing career and worked at Palomar college until she retired. She loved her family and spent her time travelling back and forth between California and Nelson.
Sue is survived by her husband Bob, son Scott and his wife Tif in California, her sisters Margie (Bob) and Rose, brothers Jim (Jane), Robert and Michael, nephews Pat (Shannon), Chris (Sam), Spencer and Matt, nieces Rauni (Vito), Lauren (Joe), Penny(Alex), Jackie and grand nephews Ben, Harrison, Levi, Cole and Ryan, grand nieces Nicole and Natelia, uncles George Coletti and Tom Murphy, and many cousins. She was predeceased by her mom Louise, dad Eric, brother Patrick and sister-in-law Shari.
