It is with deep sadness to announce that Susie Voykin passed away peacefully at the age of 97 with family by her side on Friday, January 31, 2025 at Mountain Lakes Senior Facility.

Susie was born in Blaine Lake, Saskatchewan on Oct 20, 1927 to Sam & Dora Podovelnikoff. Her brother Joe was born 7 years later on the same day. Soon after the family moved to Slocan Park, British Columbia.

Susie was married to William Eli Voykin on November 11, 1947. They were blessed with 3 children Wayne, Eleanor and Sandra.

Susie was an accomplished Pastry Chef working in various restaurants while raising her family. Her love of music lead her to a life long participation in various choirs and choral directing. She was a live long member of the Union of Spiritual Communities of Christ.

Her children and grandchildren were her lifes top priority instilling the importance of community and humanitarian acts.

Susie was predeceased by her husband William Eli Voykin, son Wayne Sydney Voykin, brother Joe Podd, son-in-law Craig Soukeroff.

She is survived by daughter Eleanor(John) Brand, Sandra Soukeroff, Marcie Voykin, 6 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren.

Our heartfelt Thank you goes out to Dr. Andre Kirsten, Dr. Janz, Mountain Lakes Senior facility for the care and compassion they showed to her and her neighbors that were always willing to help her at anytime.

Funeral arrangements under the care of Castlegar Funeral Chapel. Service was held on Friday, Feb 7, 2025, at the Brilliant Cultural Centre in Castlegar, BC.
