It is with heavy hearts the family of Sylvia Hellekson announce her passing.
Mom worked many years with the Ministry of Forest. After retiring they travelled, moved to Osoyoos, and wintered in Arizona. They then moved back to Nelson to settle by the lake.
Predeceased by her husband Roy (2014), daughter Cindy Lee (1961), mother Borghild & father Aslak Sandberg, sister Eleanor Shonsta, and brothers Bob and Arne Sandberg.
Sylvia is survived by her son Rick (Terry-Lee), grandchildren Trevor, Samantha (Ryan) Carleton, great grandchildren Rylee, Sofia, Arlo and Cayde, daughter Sandy (Gord) Rae, and grandchildren Jessica (Tian), Nicole (Dayton), and Jared.
Her family would like to thank the Lakeview Village staff, Kootenay Lake Hospital 3rd floor staff and Dr Martha Wilson for their care and compassion during Mom's brief illness.
