April 21, 1931 - May 18, 2021
With sad and heavy hearts, the family of Teresa (Albrecht) Asboth of Nelson, wishes to announce her passing at Poplar Ridge Home on May 18, 2021. Teresa was blessed with 90 years of life.
Teresa was born at Vertesboglar, Hungary on April 21, 1931. In 1956, in an effort to escape the Russian invasion of Hungary, Teresa emigrated to Canada with her then husband and two small children. In 1958 she and her children moved to Nelson.
Teresa married the love of her life, Victor, in 1960. They had 46 great years together before Victor's sudden passing in 2006. Teresa was a familiar face in Nelson having worked at One Hour Martinizing in Nelson for many years. She enjoyed meeting people and was a favorite with her customers.
After the passing of her beloved, Victor, Teresa enjoyed travelling to casinos and shows. She especially enjoyed travelling the globe with her friend Jo. Mom loved spending time with her family and friends and sharing stories of her many travels.
She especially enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren and watching them grow to adulthood. In 2016 she was thrilled to welcome her great-grandson, Matthew and in 2019, great-granddaughter, Sophia.
Teresa was predeceased by her husband, Victor in 2006. Also by her brother Andy of Nelson, her parents and two sisters of Hungary. Left to mourn her loss is her daughter, Agota (Bill), son Andras ; her grandchildren: Richard (Jessica), Lincoln (Sasha), Dustin, Sarah, Alexander and Laura; her two great- grandchildren, her dear friend Jo Doetzel and her goddaughter Marjie Lesko. Her fiesty spirit will be sadly missed by one and all.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Milde for his 30+ years of excellent care of our mother/grandmother and Dr. Smart for her many efforts on Mom's behalf this past difficult year. Also a big thank you to Lisa Drinovz, who went above and beyond to help make Mom's final days a little easier for us all.
Thank you to the excellent people at Poplar Ridge who helped ease Mom's final days to a peaceful end. A special heartfelt thank you goes out to Jo Doetzel for all she did for Mom, especially as Mom's health declined.
Cremation and a private family entombment is in the care to Thompson Funeral Home. At Mom's request, there will be no service.
