Aug 28, 2017
Teth Haddow left us on August 28, 2017 after a year and a half battle with cancer. A true fighter, she didn't quit until her body was no longer able to house her spirit.

Teth, formerly Margee Bruyere and before that Margaret Thomasett, moved to Winlaw with her husband Chris Bruyere from California during the Vietnam War era in 1971 to the 'farm' that she passed on to her son Yarrow. As a loving woman she had many friends who she stood by and supported regardless of their dilemma . As the rock that she was, nothing could faze her and woe to the person who stood in her way.

Margee was a hippy chick who bought a '64, cherry red Corvette by way of go-go dancing in Los Angeles. Her love of dance continued, in her Slocan Valley dance and drumming groups she often out shone women half her age. Teth's energy level was phenomenal, she'd kick ass working all day long but come 4:20 it was time to let her hair down and enjoy life with whoever was near.

Teth loved to travel. Hawaii is one of her favorite places, Cuba was another more recent favorite. After a fantastic two week trip there plans were to go next time for two months but her illness took over.

Teth's spirituality allowed her to be fearless, respectful and non-judgmental. Not adhering to any one particular belief or faith, though primarily Buddhist, hers was a blend that made perfect sense.

Her farm was her sanctuary, a safe haven, a place of creativity, of business and endless nude gardening; a place she enjoyed with many over the last 4 decades. Hair dressing was her vocation and passion, both on the farm and in Nelson. An avid reader, she'd devour a wide range of topics from fantasy to fact. She accepted yet fought her illness bravely with a stoicism that was uncanny, not once did a "why me" cross her lips.

Teth was predeceased by her husband Gerry Haddow, her former partner Ken Fagan and both of her parents Suzanne and Roger.

Survived by her son Yarrow Bruyere, brother John Thomasett, numerous cousins, nephews, friends and intimate partner David Buller who loved her for the beautiful spirit she is.
