September 26, 1938 - February 15, 2021
Our father William John Wadds passed away unexpectedly on February 15, 2021, in his home in Lillooet, BC. Bill was born in Kimberley, BC in 1938 to Morris and Helen Wadds (nee Stewart). He was the youngest of two.
Bill graduated in Nelson from LV Rogers Secondary School. He moved to Pioneer, BC, then Bralorne where he met his beautiful wife Ruth "Ruthie" Anne Dunbar. Bill and Ruth were married on September 2, 1961, in Bralorne. They had three children; Georgia Wadds, Loree (Dave) MacKinnon, and Michael Wadds. He had five grandchildren; Gerrad (Ashlie), Kirty (Denis), Kelly (Darren), Kacy, and Hayden (Daniah) as well as three great-grandchildren; Gemma, Abram, and Asher.
Although Bill was an electrician for most of his working career, in his younger years he worked in the Bralorne and Pioneer mines. He drove the Gold Bridge School bus after his retirement but claimed mining as the career he enjoyed most.
Bill was very active in the outdoors as a young man. He enjoyed sledding, skiing, ice fishing, fishing, and horseback riding. As he grew older his outdoor activities transitioned into his passion for working in his yard. He enjoyed getting together with friends for coffee at the A&W restaurant.
There will be no formal services held at this time.
The family would like to acknowledge Lorraine C. for the kindness and friendship they had built over the last ten years.
