October 10, 1957 - December 3, 2020
It is with very heavy hearts, that the family of William Lennard King wishes to announce his passing, following a very brief battle with brain cancer, on Dec 3, 2020.
Bill was born on October 10, 1957 in Revelstoke, BC, where he spent much of his youth enjoying sports and the great outdoors.
His love of spending time in nature lead to the natural choice of Forestry as his career. While working in Victoria, he met the love of his life, Paulette.
Wanting to branch out on his own, his career eventually brought the couple to Nelson, BC, where he was a partner in Kokanee Forests Consulting for many years. A move to Fruitvale, BC became home and where he and Paulette raised their two boys.
One of Bill's favourite things was spending time with his family. He went from the sidelines of soccer fields to the coach benches at hockey arenas, enjoying as much time as he could with his boys. That continued after they were grown, with golf and fishing trips. His passion for golf lead to many trips to Phoenix and the Okanagan with his golf buddies. As an avid curler, he took part in many bonspeils around the province.
Bill was predeceased by his mother Audrey Lois King, in 2013. And his father William Stewart King, a mere 8 hours prior to Bill's own passing. Inseparable in life, there is comfort in that father and son left together as well.
Bill is survived by his wife Paulette, his sons Matt and Corey, his sister Linda (John) Gillis, many extended family and friends, and the cat that loved only him, Sami.
There will be no formal service by request. But the family encourages all his many friends and extended family to remember his kind and generous nature, by making a donation to a charity or local Christmas hamper program and help those who are struggling this year.
