Yvonne was born July 24, 1935, in Edmonton, AB, the oldest child of Ed and Mercedes Tremblay. She died November 10, 2024, in Nelson, BC.
Yvonne is survived by her three brothers: Harvey (Arleen), Edward (June), Robert "Bob" (Joyce), their children and grandchildren, and her sister Marianne.
After attending the University of Alberta in Calgary and Edmonton, she enjoyed a long and varied career as a Physical Education instructor, coach and lecturer in all levels of education - elementary, high school and college - from BC to New Brunswick.
In 1976 she moved to Nelson and built a home on her family property. In 1984 she started Tante Yvonne's Montessori preschool in her home until her retirement in 2000.
She was an avid hiker, cross-country skier, kayaker and cyclist, including biking in the BC Senior Games and Cyswog'n here in Nelson.
She was a very active member of Blessed Sacrament Parish, the CWL and the Cathedral of Mary Immaculate.
A prayer vigil and funeral mass were held at the Cathedral of Mary Immaculate and interment at the Nelson Memorial Park.
