After a 12-year battle with a rare auto immune disorder Yvonne Hopkins, at the age of 68 years, passed away at KLH on March 16, 2018. Yvonne was predeceased by her mother and father Larry and Isabel Curiston.
Yvonne was survived by her husband of 45 years Brian, and daughters Darleen Elliott and Kim (Ron) Hollett, and grandchildren Sebastian, Shea and Gordon.
Yvonne was a member of Eastern Star and volunteered with Hospital and Nelson United Women's auxiliaries. Yvonne worked for many years supporting people with disabilities. She loved her crafts, cooking, canning, baking, as well as camping and entertaining in her home. She loved her family, her friends and especially her grandchildren.
She will be sadly missed by everyone that knew her. The family would like to thank Dr. Kirsten for his outstanding medical care and support, and all the nurses on the third floor of KLH.
No service will be held, but a Celebration of Life barbeque will be held at the family home, date to be announced.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Yvonne's honour to KLH Hospital Auxiliary.
