Good mix of hugs and slugs this week

I’d rather see dogs on Baker Street than the riffraff that hangs out in front of CIBC.

SLUGS. To all the irresponsible dog owner that I encountered today at Kokanee Creek Park. The park is public land, not private land that you can let your dogs run and poop where ever they want. I counted six bags of poop left on trails and the road and 14 piles of dog poop... gross!

Slugs. To all the foul dog owners that take their dogs for a walk so the mutt can dump in someone else’s yard. Finding a responsible dog owner would be just as likely as finding a Sasquatch. Spring is here and we’ve got a boulevard hedge littered with dog doo bags and a lawn loaded with dog crap. It seems responsibility only applies when someone is watching you. Hugs to Councillor Robin Cherbo for having the common sense to stand up against the downtown dog nonsense.

HUGS. Great big hugs to all my wonderful friends for joining in the fun whenever I suggest it. Hope you know how much you all mean to me. Three cheers for all that positive karma!

SLUGS. To my neighbour on Gordon Road who keeps trying to shoot his BB gun at my cat. Next time I hear it or another neighbour tells me they saw you act in such a manner, I will NOT hesitate to report you for animal cruelty. Shame on you! Maybe this is why my cat came home a month ago limping. - Eyes on you

SLUGS. To those who loiter at the downtown amenity areas. I’d rather see dogs on Baker Street than the riffraff that hangs out in front of CIBC.

Slugs. To the insurance company that I have dealt with for over 20 years that refused to insure because my house is too old and I have a disability.

Hugs. To the woman who propositioned my husband late Sunday night when he responded to a call near Finley’s Bar. In spite of (or maybe because of?) his work overalls, high-vis vest and sewage on his boots, your impeccable taste in men remained intact. Sadly for you, he is a one-woman man and declined your generous, if somewhat tipsy, offer. But thank you for making his night on-call one to remember!

HUGS. To everyone that stopped me on the street, in the grocery store, backed me up, encouraged me, praised me and generally gave me rah rah. I am happy with my results and I feel like a winner. I lost five pounds and six inches. I stood in front of the entire community and you were all there for me.

Slugs. To the driver for deliberately accelerating through the crosswalk at Victoria and Josephine last Monday morning. I was only one-third of the way across when you decided to speed up. You missed me by less than a foot!
