Big week for hugs

HUGS: To a fine Nelson city cop who provides service with understanding, response with compassion, performance with integrity and law enforcement with vision. Not all superheroes wear capes — this one wears tattoos and a mohawk.

SLUGS: To the participating restaurants in Burger Month that refuse to sell their burger to-go, even with sides, during a pandemic. Shame on you.

HUGS: To the person who flashed their lights at me yesterday that kept me from possibly hitting the animals that were crossing. I wish more people would flash and then drivers would slow down and pay attention. There are many dead animals along the road these days.

HUGS: To the person who found my BMO card by the Shoppers in Nelson and gave it to the pharmacy staff, who made the effort to find me. It saved me from having to go in the bank and possibly getting COVID.

HUGS: To Jessie, the wonderful young man in who was my mother’s roommate in the Trail hospital. Despite your own injuries you got my mom juice and talked with her throughout her recovery when I wasn’t allowed to be there. You made her stay so much better with your presence.
