HUGS AND SLUGS: Shout out to 7-11 Nathan

Some good vibes in the latest edition of praise and complaints

HUGS: To the City of Nelson for illuminating City Hall orange to commemorate Truth and Reconciliation Day and Orange Shirt Day. It is heartwarming to see our city heading in the right direction.

SLUGS: To the dog owners recently hiking in Valhalla Provincial Park who feel that clearly posted rules do not apply to their own pets.

SLUGS: To me for speed-bag-punching your tailgate and chasing your truck down the alley acting like a gorilla. My wife said, “Who do you think that was” and I said, “Why, that was blank!” and she said, “That was not blank” and I said, “Oh for blank’s sake.” I was only punching your bike pad but if there is any damage please let me know.

HUGS: To Nathan who changed my tire at the back of 7-Eleven on a rainy night. Many thanks for your help.

HUGS: To the young folks who have the courage to stand up for their future by protesting old growth logging and inaction on climate change. You brought tears to my senior eyes when you spoke on Baker Street last Saturday!

HUGS: Many thanks to the Good Samaritan who, on Oct. 14, left a note on my car in the mall warning me that I had a flat front tire.
