HUGS: To the person who turned in my lost keys to the police station. I was very relieved to find them!
HUGS: To the man who offered to help me clean off my car at the gym this morning but I turned down. I’ve always had a hard time accepting help but I’m working on that.
HUGS: With hugs and blessings to the man in a black Jeep who stopped as I crossed the icy street with caution and called to me. He wanted to recommend traction devices for my boots that would afford better safety than a pair of hiking poles. I am grateful for your thoughtfulness and care.
SLUGS: To the person complaining about the sirens going off in Nelson under the Slugs last week. What would you rather have? Do you want emergency vehicles running people over, causing accidents and people dying just so you can have peace and quiet? Grow up.
HUGS: Thank you very much for rescuing my skis and poles, which I left at the Apex parking lot. You stuck them in the snow away from the traffic where I could easily identify them! It's great to live in such a thoughtful community.
SLUGS: Despite two emails to Nelson City Hall, the lights at Lakeside Park's basketball and tennis courts continue to shine through the night, long after anyone is using those facilities. What a waste of energy and a needless contribution to light pollution. Please shut off the lights and enjoy the starry sky.
SLUGS: To the rat on Fort Sheppard Drive! I was eight hours away working in Calgary when I was informed my two vehicles were being towed away for being parked on a public street longer then 72 hours! In a city already expensive, it's pretty hurtful to lose almost $800 because of being "parked longer then 72 hours" right before Christmas.
HUGS: Big hugs to three Good Samaritans, Lisa, Margot and Tracy, who stayed with us for an hour after our mum fainted and fell on the cemetery trails. We are so thankful that you looked after our mum and kept us safe by putting on our leashes. It's our job as Golden Retrievers to keep our mum safe but we really needed help that day and you were the best. Thank you from Monte and Julie.
