I’m also unhappy with all the extra use of plastic bags, but it’s to protect the workers in the stores. The Kootenay Co-op has pointed out that people can just have their groceries put back into the cart, then take it outside and transfer it to their reusable bags. Maybe it would be good for stores to put up signs suggesting that or tell people at the checkout.
