Re: “Thanks for the benches,” Letters, July 16
I’d like to make a correction to the reply given to a recent letter to the editor asking who to thank for the benches along John’s Walk. It was not, in fact, the City of Nelson that placed those lovely benches. It was, rather, a kind citizen who, when asked why he built them, replied “because they will bring untold happiness to many, unknown, random people, and that makes me happy.” How sweet is that? Just thought you’d like to know. Those benches are certainly enjoyed daily by many.
