LETTER: Logging at our species’ risk

The cutting above Mountain Station is part of the ongoing desecration of the forests of British Columbia. Loss of natural ecosystems such as this one has been shown to be a major contributor to global warming and the altering of climate.

But as well there are definitely connections between this destruction and the recent discovery of Native Canadian children’s remains and the pandemic that’s ravaging the earth. For more than 100 years the same societal forces that shaped Canada’s economic model and sell off the resources have determined the genocidal policy implemented by the federal government and various religious groups, mainly the Catholic church.

Also there is factual scientific evidence that destroying natural habitat can often release pathogens that complete the circle and destroy the human species. Is this chickens coming home to roost?
