In a recent letter to the editor concerning sandwich boards, the writer wrote: “It is getting so you cannot walk down the street without walking into one.”
That comment seems a bit exaggerated.
Well, either he has eyesight problems or he’s had too much to drink, because I see absolutely no problem with sandwich boards. Actually I find them creative, colourful and make me aware of certain businesses not on the main street and most importantly, we need to support local business.
Drawing attention to their business via sandwich boards should be totally encouraged and supported. Don’t we desire a vibrant active downtown?
