Bennett Anklewich scored twice as the Nelson Leafs shut out the Grand Forks Border Bruins 4-0 at home Tuesday.
Ryland Mennie and Drake Proctor also scored for the Leafs (21-15-5), while Jasper Tait made 27 saves to blank the visitors.
Ewan Soutar stopped 31 shots for the Border Bruins (23-13-3), who are two points ahead of Nelson and the Beaver Valley Nitehawks at the top of the Neil Murdoch Division. The Border Bruins haven’t won a division title in 30 years.
The Leafs have just three games left in the regular season. They visit the Castlegar Rebels on Friday, return home for another game against Grand Forks on Feb. 10, then finish the campaign with a road game Feb. 11 against Beaver Valley.
