Boxing club preps for hometown card

Fight Night 2 will be held Saturday night at the Nelson Rod and Gun Club.

The sweet science will be in the spotlight once again this weekend.

The Nelson Boxing and Athletics Club is hosting Fight Night 2 on Saturday at the Nelson Rod and Gun Club. It’s the club’s second hometown card after a sold-out event in May.

Tickets are $20 and can be purchased at the boxing club, Tribute Boardshop and Bia Boro Boutique. Doors open at 6 p.m.

The card will feature 11 bouts. See below for a tentative list of fights including Nelson fighters:

Main event: Jeff Emmet (Nelson) versus Geoff Hewlett (North Vancouver)

Riel Martinez (Nelson) versus Dylan Muhlig (Cranbrook)

Elias Martinez (Nelson) versus Aaron Madriaga (North Vancouver)

Ryan Lewis (Nelson) versus John Gowanlock (Revelstoke)

Krishan Lysenko (Nelson) versus Danica Dreyer (Kelowna)

Bhodi Cartland (Nelson) versus Joe Armstrong (Kelowna)
