Competition fierce and fun at Day 1 of the Lhtako Quesnel BC Winter Games

The action continues on Saturday

From backflips to bullseyes, day one of the 2024 Lhtako Quesnel BC Winter Games is in the books.

After the first day (Friday, Feb. 23), Fraser River (Zone 4) leads the way with 21 medals (eight gold, eight silver, five bronze). Vancouver-Coastal (Zone 5) is in second with 17 medals.

Zone 8, representing Cariboo-North East has one gold medal in the games so far. It belongs to Skye Cadell of Prince George, who won gold in the Sprint Girls biathlon event.

Much more action and many more medals will be handed out on Saturday while tournament sports like wheelchair basketball and ringette will get down to the semi-finals, with the finals taking place on Sunday.
