The Nelson Leafs beat a team on the road 5-1 for the second straight night as they stretched their undefeated streak in regulation time to 14 games.

Five different Leafs scored as they downed the Kelowna Chiefs on Saturday.

Cole Arcuri opened the scoring for Nelson four minutes into the first. Kelowna tied it in the last minute of the period. There was no scoring in the second.

In the third, Travis Wellman scored his league-leading 22nd goal of the season to make it 2-1. Carson Willans, Tyler Garcia, and Alec Wilkinson also notched goals for Nelson, the latter two on the power play. Wilkinson added a couple of assists to finish the night with three points.

Jamie Vlanich also picked up a couple of assists and is now leading the league in scoring with 33 points, one more than Kelowna's Nick Josephs, who was held off the scoresheet last night. Wellman is third with 31 points.

Nelson outshot Kelowna 29-19. Brad Rebagliati earned the win in his first start for the Leafs.

Former Leaf Matthew Naka, traded last week to Kelowna, took a minor penalty but didn't figure in the scoring in his first game against old teammates.

On Friday, Nelson beat the North Okanagan Knights 5-1.

Tonight they wrap up their three-game road swing in Summerland.

The Leafs' record now stands at 12-0-1-1, putting them six points ahead of second-place Beaver Valley in the Neil Murdoch Division and tied for first overall in the league with Kamloops, although the Storm have played two more games.
