Nelson’s Swingers Squash Club hosted its annual Bula Tula tournament this past weekend, with more than 60 players from across the Interior heading into the city.
Lindsay Hewson from Smithers and Nelson’s Brenda Taylor took first and second place in the Women’s C division, while first place in Women’s B went to Supha Borden of Vernon and second to Kimberley Hyatt from Nelson.
Vernon’s Blain Martian headed up Men’s D, with silver going to Rob Vanderhorst, also of Vernon. Nelsonite Bill Anderson took gold in Men’s C, with second place going to another local, Ray Taylor. Darren Hedstrom from Nelson beat out Jarrett Achsen from Penticton for the Men’s B title, while Men’s B+ went to local Don Macdonald, with Golden’s Peter McLaren in second. In the Men’s A, Simon Summers from Kelowna took home the win, beating Nelson’s Mike Allan.
