Glacier Gymnastics wins 1st-place team title in Cranbrook

Glacier will now send 13 athletes to provincials

Forty four of Nelson’s gymnasts returned home from the Key City Classic in Cranbrook with the overall competition first-place team title.

The competition took place March 3 to 5, and is a bi-provincial competition attracting 250 participants from clubs in British Columbia and Alberta. The Glacier team also won 93 medals and seven first-place all-around titles.

The meet also serves as a qualifier for provincials. Thirteen gymnasts from Glacier will be attending the B.C. championships in Surrey, March 31 to April 2.

Glacier’s B.C. Championships team includes:

Canadian Competitive Level 6: Jeanne Troutet, Lillianna Mucha, Rebecka van Hellemond, Emerson Mandseth, Anika Denkovski, Penelope Dawson, Elsa Troutet and Lumay Plautz.

Canadian Competitive Level 7: Jersey Skolka, Molly Anderson and Eden Bellman.

Canadian Competitive Level 8: Anni van Hellemond, Anouk Prud’homme and Macy Loutit.
