Glacier Gymnastics' team romped through their first out-of-town competition of the season.

Seventeen gymnasts captured 12 gold medals and 21 total against a tough field from the Lower Mainland and Interior at the Kelowna Cobweb Invitational on Feb. 18 to 19.

Glacier Team highlights include Shelbi van Hellemond claiming the all-around gold medal in the Junior Olympic Level 6, under 11 category and Brianne Stefani's all-around gold victory in the Junior Olympic Level 8 all-ages category.

"Most of our gymnasts accomplished personal goals by successfully competing new skills and routines," said Glacier's head coach Sandra Long.

"This is a big confidence boost for our athletes and they will take that confidence and build on it as we head into our competition season."
