Granite Pointe pair not up to par at BC Amateur

Granite Pointe’s Josh Coletti and Jordan Melanson had forgettable outings at the BC Amateur Championship last week.

Coletti managed to make the cut after two rounds at The Dunes Golf Club in Kamloops. Though he showed flashes of solid golf in the first two days, in the third and fourth rounds the local could not muster any sort of roll.

Coletti shot 78 and 82 on the final two days.

Coletti, who plays for the Missouri Valley College golf team, finished 73rd in the tournament, 23 strokes off the pace set by winner David Rose of Capilano Golf and Country Club.

Melanson shot a pair of 75s in the first two rounds and narrowly missed the cut.

Melanson — who captured two Kootenay tournament titles earlier in the spring — is a member of the Simon Fraser University golf team.
