Kim Boddy has resigned as general manager of Nelson’s Granite Point Golf Course, effective Tuesday.

Boddy, who was hired in September, will stay on in a volunteer role until May 15.

“Since his appointment, Kim has undertaken a complete and thorough review of our entire operation, and made many valuable observations and suggestions to improve the experiences of our golfing members and guests, as well as the overall administration of the golf course,” president David Swain said in a statement.

Boddy said his mandate was to “analyze Granite Pointe as a business and position it in the best possible case. Perhaps the most significant conclusion, it’s my opinion that resources would be better allocated to address some or all of the areas I have identified since September.”

He thanked the board of directors for their confidence, and said he planned to remain a member of the course and continue to contribute as a volunteer, and perhaps as a board member.

Boddy was hired for his extensive experience in finance, business development, and marketing. He is a former director of the Balfour golf course, a certified general accountant, and was vice-president of finance for a Calgary oil and gas company.
