Hannah Mehain skis onto international stage

The former Nelson skier competed in four events with Canada’s team

Former Nelson cross-country skier Hannah Mehain represented Canada at the FIS Nordic Junior World Ski Championships last week.

Mehain, a Vernon resident who was born in Nelson and previously skied at the Nelson Nordic Ski Club, competed in four events during the international event that ran Jan. 27 to Feb. 4 in Goms, Switzerland.

The 19 year old finished 29th overall in 1.2-kilometre ladies sprint free event, 37th in the skiathlon, 45th in the five-km individual classic and 15th in the four skier relay event.
