KIJHL: Braves drop Leafs 4-1

Nelson's losing streak stretches to seven with latest result.

Carter Jones scored twice as the Spokane Braves handed the Nelson Leafs their seventh straight loss.

Paxton Malone and Mark Pretorius also scored for the Braves (6-17-0) Sunday afternoon in Spokane. Malone added two assists to increase his league-leading total to 40 points.

Ryan Piva had the lone goal for the Leafs (8-11-2), who lost despite firing 49 shots at Braves netminder JJ Pichette. Leafs goalie Jason Sandhu was on the hook for all four goals while stopping 28 shots.

Nelson’s five-game road trip continues with a visit to Golden on Friday.
