It was a battle between two old rivals as the Hume Hotel Innkeepers and the Kootenay Co-op battled in another soccer final in Nelson.

In the end it was the older Coop side coming out on top 6-5 in the final of the Nelson Star Men’s Open soccer final at the Nelson Indoor Soccer Centre Tuesday night.

For the Innkeepers it was a case of falling behind early and never being able to erase the deficit, while for the Co-op it was simply a well-executed victory that saw the veteran side score goals at critical times of the game to hold off a number of Innkeeper charges.
