The 2014 Kootenay Zone Championships are underway this weekend in Nelson, hosted by the Glacier Gymnastics Club at the Civic Centre.

Nelson’s Glacier Gymnastics Club is hosting the 2014 Kootenay Zone Gymnastics Championships this weekend.

Two hundred and twenty gymnasts from Nelson, Trail, Castlegar, Creston, Cranbrook, Kimberley and Golden are vying for all around and event titles in the Boys and Girls Provincial Level 1-3 categories Local Glacier gymnast Ella Keelan is the 2014 Provincial All-Around Champion and B.C Winter Games medalist will be competing for the Level 3 all-around Zone title.

Other Nelson Provincial Champions competing for Zone Championship titles are Sara Tolles, Hailey Lothrop, Victoria Lawrence-Jeffery, Kylee Dyck, and Chris Lawrence-Jeffery.

Pre-competitive and recreational gymnasts are also performing routines in a non-competitive meet environment.
