Two soaring backflips by Kurt Sorge helped the Nelson rider capture his third career victory at the Red Bull Rampage.

Sorge scored 92.66 points to finish first in the 18-rider field at the mountain bike freeride event held Friday in Virgin, Utah. That makes Sorge the first rider in the competition’s 12-year history to have won three times.

His previous victories came in 2012 and 2015.
