Tyson Lautard scored shorthanded as the Nelson Leafs overwhelmed the Rebels in Castlegar 5-1 on Friday.
Ryan Quast and Marko Pavlovic also scored, with Dawson Davis and Bennett Anklewich each adding empty-net goals. Jasper Tait meanwhile made 36 saves in net for the Leafs (6-2-3).
Bradley Beats had the lone goal for the Rebels (5-7-1), with Ethan Lawczynski stopping 26 shots.
The Leafs and Rebels play again Saturday night in Nelson.
