Leafs defeat Border Bruins 4-1

It’s Nelson’s first win against Grand Forks this season

Dawson Davis scored one minute into regulation as the Nelson Leafs beat the Grand Forks Border Bruins 4-1 at home Thursday.

Kane Kennedy, Craw Dawson and Parker White also scored for the Leafs (10-12-1), who earned their first win against the division-leading Border Bruins this season. Jackson McLeod meanwhile finished with 23 saves in net.

Matthew Dovichak stopped 32 shots for Grand Forks (15-8-3), with Nate Tillmanns scoring the lone goal.

The Leafs next hit the road for three games in Spokane on Dec. 15, Grand Forks on Dec. 16 and in Fruitvale against Beaver Valley on Dec. 29. They finish the month at home against Castlegar on Dec. 30 and Beaver Valley on Dec. 31.
