Leafs drop games in Kimberley, Golden

Nelson went winless through a three-game trip

The Nelson Leafs finished a three-game road trip winless after losses to Kimberley and Golden over the weekend.

Anderson Violette allowed all five goals on 37 shots as the Leafs lost 5-0 to the Dynamiters on Friday.

Mitch Fargey scored twice, and Cam Russell, Daniel Anton and Cam Reid each added singles for Kimberley (18-2-1), while Blake Pilon earned the shutout with 24 saves.

The next night in Golden, the Leafs allowed three unanswered goals in the third period en route to a 5-3 defeat against the Rockets.

Shawn Campbell, Adam Diotte and Keenan Crossman scored for Nelson (15-6-3), and Tenzin Mint made 38 saves.

Jayden Hendricks, Jackson Wade, Dante Pietrarca, Bryce Trimmer and Liam Morris each scored for Golden (10-10-1), which also had a 31-save performance from Brandon Weare.

Nelson had played three games in three nights after also losing 6-4 to the Fernie Ghostriders on Nov. 21.

The Leafs next visit the Castlegar Rebels on Saturday.
