Leafs fall in Kimberley, down 2-0 in Kootenay Conference finals

The Nelson Leafs will return home down 2-0 in the Kootenay Conference finals.

Bryden Pow had Nelson’s only goal in a 4-1 loss to the Dynamiters in Kimberley on Wednesday.

Christian Mealey, Tenzin Bogardis, Cash Regan and Ryan Bennett each scored for the Dynamiters, while goaltender Trystan Self stopped 29 shots.

Nelson goaltender Tenzin Mint was pulled after allowing four goals on 25 shots. Dylan Marshall played the final 11 minutes of the game and stopped four shots.

Nelson hosts Games 3 and 4 on Friday and Saturday, respectively. Game 5, if necessary, moves back to Kimberley on Monday.

In the Okanagan-Shuswap Conference finals, the Revelstoke Grizzlies took a 2-0 series lead with a 3-2 win over the Osoyoos Coyotes.
