Crae Dawson had a four-point game as the Nelson Leafs hammered the Beaver Valley Nitehawks on the road 6-1 to finish the regular season with a win Saturday.
The Leafs scored four power-play goals against the Nitehawks while firing 45 shots on net.
Parker White had two goals and an assist, Xaiden Bignell and Aidan Turner added singles and goaltender Karl Soneff made 29 saves. Quinn Ramsay and Caden Still also chipped in with three assists each for the Leafs (24-17-3).
Connor Stojan allowed all six goals in net for the Nitehawks (32-9-3), who still comfortably finished the regular season atop the Neil Murdoch Division. Nathan Simm had Beaver Valley’s lone goal.
Nelson opens the first round of the playoffs on the road for Games 1 and 2 against the Grand Forks Border Bruins on Friday and Saturday. The series then moves to Nelson for Games 3 and 4 on Feb. 26 and 27. Beaver Valley meanwhile hosts the Castlegar Rebels.
