Leafs lose 6-5 in OT to Thunder Cats

Creston Valley’s Nikolai Morrison scored in overtime as the Nelson Leafs fell 6-5 to the Thunder Cats on the road Friday.

The Leafs were down 5-2 before rallying with three straight goals in the third period to salvage a point.

Quinn Ramsay scored twice, with Jackson MacIntosh, Kieran Christianson and Ethan Hamilton also scoring for Nelson (18-16-3). Goaltender Karl Soneff finished with 20 saves.

Morrison had a hat trick for Creston Valley (17-15-5), while Max Chakrabarti, Austin McLean and Tyson Tokarz also had singles. Dario Cantini meanwhile made 20 saves.
